On date down, turnaround.

Okay I took a few month break from dating. After a spring filled with dating all the boys that wanted to be in a “serious relationship,” wanted to know my “feelings,” and then a whorl wind of bad dates mixed with things just not working out. Anyhow after all that and not being completely over this one guy I decided it was better to take a little break.

Until a couple of weeks ago. I finally got tired of everyone telling me that they knew someone for me to date, and making me feel insane for being a single girl that is 31. I joined a website to meet a few perspective candidates and see where that lead me.

It is incredibly hard to learn much about these fellows just by chatting back and forth, so if they don’t see to creepy and ask me to meet I will usually give them a go and see what happens. I don’t give my phone number out straight away, give them a place where I know everyone and pick a day of the week that I wouldn’t have too much going on.

So I told music guy that I would meet him at my favorite bar 15 minutes after I got off of work at my local watering hole. He knew what I looked like by his picture and he should have know mine (I also gave him heads up that I had cut my face up so he know to expect that). I got there first so I picked a table easy to spot when you first walk into the bar, and sat down around 4:10. Around 4:25 (still late) I saw a guy that walked by that I was pretty sure that it was him so I smiled and was about to say hello as he walked straight on by me.

I kept having beers…..

So after 3 and a half beers on my own around 5 ish I pretty much had decided one of two things had happened. 1 I got stood up or 2 That guy walked by me saw me, wasn’t interested and just keep walking on. On the upside I knew that waitress and so I got to hang with her and have some beers and watched a little football.

Then on what I had decided was to be my last beer, after an hour alone I was ready to go. The same guy from earlier walks up to me and asks if it’s me. I said yes, and he sat down. He proceeded to give apologies and tell me I look nothing like my picture and so on. (you would think being the ONLY GIRL SITTING ALONE in a crowded bar would have gave him a clue). Then told me about being “kicked out” of college, how he will never be promoted at work since his boss doesn’t like him, and how he doesn’t get out much and spends a lot of time at home on his own. AHHH! The only thing I found that I could actually talk to him about turned about to be football, and we still differed on that since I love college and he watch pro.

I gave him about an hour and then I told him I had too much to drink and I needed to go home, I really at this point couldn’t think of anything better than sitting on the couch and watching netflix alone. So I told him goodbye then went to say goodbye to my waitress friend (also had her watch my stuff so I could hit the ladies before I left). He waited for me to do that, I think he wanted to walk me to my car or something. Anyhow at the mention of the ladies room, he said good bye again and left.

After returning from the ladies room, I grabbed my stuff and said goodbye to everyone I knew then the bartender gave me a free beer. I sat down and was introduced the fellow next to me, telling him about my bad date. And ironically we started to hit it off! He even made jokes that this blind date was better than my other!
