My dating has been the novelty at my local watering hole the past couple of days, especially after my date on Friday night. Every girl finds the first date after having her heart broken tough so I was defiantly quite nervous meeting someone new. My date who my buddy Alan refers to as “the only white guy to ever be named Heywarde,” this guy is very sweet he opened all the doors, put my pizza on my plate for me and paid for everything. But that’s not what has keep my buddy’s howling over about the last couple of days.
The moment I knew this guy was not the one for me what when he told me ”I am not crazy about fishing because it grosses me out to bait the hook.” Everyday at work I cut up bait fish, gut it, and clean up after fish (mostly live but sometimes dead) I don’t know how I could end with someone that can’t bait a lousy fish hook without getting the willies. We continue to have nothing in common and I just try to find something that he is passionate about. He doesn’t play or watch sports really, he tried hunting once it made him feel bad, and he doe not drink alcohol at all. This keeps me racking my brain for some types of interesting things to talk about and stories to tell that don’t involve drinking, so I mostly got to talk about work, yay! I do eventually think to ask him what music he’s currently listening to, he tells me that in his changer was Rod Stewart, Celine Dion (which immediately makes me think about the boy I am trying to forget who so passionately hates Celine Dion and has ranted about it many times) and stuff I have never heard of in the genre of rap, hard core metal and rock.
So originally the plan was to have our mutual friend come out with us for the meeting but she ended up having to go into work, so I forgot to mention that she called me to tell me that she had to go in because he was too nervous. So after dinner is about what time she get out of work so she comes to meet us at the bowling alley for the second half of the date. When she gets there he has her shoes all ready for her to bowl with us, gives her some cash so she can go get a soda (that they end up sharing), and she tells me he begged her to come because he was so nervous. This just made me feel like they were the ones on the date and I was just along for the ride.
During my date my friends are texting me and sending me pictures of the fun times that they are having without me at cowboy night. So this whole time I am wishing that I was there! Now I feel horrible because somehow let this guy down when he most likely will ask me out again. On the other hand all my buddy’s will love to hear about date number two and they are also dying to follow me around on a date (at least that would make things a little more intresting, right?).
The quest continues another day so we will see what happens.... And who knows maybe that cute bartender my drunk ass gave my number to will call.
Awww- I hate it when they're so sweet but not your type and you know that you're going to have to give the sad no match signals. I try to make myself feel better by telling myself I would just eat them up for breakfast and spit them out for lunch. I want a man's man baby! Good one Em!
